The NESG-Stanbic IBTC Business Confidence Monitor (BCM) is the flagship sur=
vey-based report of the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG), supported by=
 Stanbic IBTC.

Businesses in Nigeria recorded a modest improvement in performance in Janua=
ry 2025, signalling an uplift in the business environment and potentially i=
mproved business performance in 2025. As a result, the current Business Per=
formance Index for January 2025 stands at +8.12, reflecting a rise in busin=
ess activities and a moderate improvement compared to +0.77 points in Decem=
ber 2024. Businesses faced significant growth challenges this month, with i=
nadequate power supply, availability of foreign exchange, limited access to=
 financing, and unclear economic policies topping the list.
